John & Sharon Roberts: 2014 visit to Stafford home

We left Otis Orchards on Sunday afternoon, 8/10/14, pulling out of the steep curvy driveway while there were plenty of people to watch all the tight spots. We spent the night at Ponderosa Falls RV Resort. The next day we travelled west stopping for the night at Sunrise RV Resort in Moses Lake, WA. (Nothing wrong with the truck. Just checking the water and oil in the morning.)

Tuesday we travelled to Auburn and stopped to spend a couple of nights at Auburn Game Farm Wilderness Park. We stopped in Auburn to visit friends and take care of doctor visits for our annual check ups. We took some pictures of the old and new Auburn High School.

Thursday we traveled the remainder of our trip arriving at Bonnie Stafford’s home in the early afternoon. We found they had prepared well for our visit by trimming trees to provide room for our RV to get to their house.

Bonnie has a nice home on 5 acres of land with a place for us to have full hookups for our RV. However, after getting in place and all hooked up, we realized we could not move our truck without moving the trailer so it sat there during our visit.

It rained, as it usually does on the Washington peninsula, during our visit and the rear wheel of our truck sat on dirt in a rain puddle. Fortunately, the rain stopped and the sun dried up all the rain before we need to leave and there was no getting stuck.
During our visit, Sharon made her famous homemade cinnamon rolls and there were enough for all to eat their full. Yep, we ate too much.

While visiting the Washington Peninsula we took the opportunity to take Sharon’s brother, Wade, on a ferry ride. He had never been on a ferry. We also went to Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium during our visit.
