On the way we stopped in Dayton, Oregon to visit John’s brother and, while there, installed a slide tray in our basement. That makes it much easier to access things in the middle of the basement.
After leaving Shady Cove, we stopped for the weekend at Junipers Reservoir RV resort. This resort is located on a working ranch. Sunday morning we saw 3 riders on horseback round up and move a herd of cattle to a different pasture. In the evenings we heard coyotes howl. It was an enjoyable weekend.
Along the way to Colorado, we stopped at the California Trail Interpretive Center outside of Elko, Nevada and enjoyed the break in traveling and learning some about the migration westward to California.
Continuing the trip took us past a rest area on I-80 at the Utah Salt Flats. We stopped there for another break.
We stopped at a restaurant to celebrate Sharon’s birthday and enjoyed a good mexican dinner. We arrived in the Colorado Springs area on September 13th.
