We arrived at the Escapade early, Saturday 5/10/2014, got all set up and visited with other early arrivals.
We are on the left end
We are parked in the race track infield with many other RVers. But, we are on the end so there is no one parked outside our door.
We spent some time during the week volunteering at some things to help make this Escapade memorable for others and to have fun serving.
Sharon working at the morning doughnut table
John drove around each morning helping people get to where they needed to be
It did rain some during the week which became the cause for concern for those parked in the track infield. The more it rained the softer the infield became. A couple of people needed help getting out. Those that waited were rewarded with a couple of days of sun and drying and left without issue.
One Motorhome tried to depart early
He did get out with the help of a tow truck
This pickup found a soft spot out in the grass. A bobcat helped him out
They brought in two loads of gravel to spread
We stayed an extra day and attended the Amish HOP on Saturday and enjoyed visiting with, and learning about, the Amish people in the area.
Buggy factory
Camel dairy
Camel milk stand
Amish school classroom
Amish family moving
We will visit more Amish communities.
