On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day we video chatted with each of our children. That is one of the great benefits of the internet. We were able to see and talk even though being many miles apart.
Christmas Day the Worthens, Stan and Toni, came over for dinner followed with playing Rummikub, a game we received for Christmas. It was an enjoyable evening with good friends.
The day after Christmas we when into town to mail some late Christmas presents and then stopped at ad ATV place and received directions to the dinosaur tracks and Fort Pearce. We left town and took the afternoon to visit those locations. These are a few pictures we took at the dinosaur tracks location.
After visiting where dinosaurs had walked, we continued to Fort Pearce. This is a simple defensive structure to defend against indian attacks.
The first two are of the inside of the structure remains and the third is outside of the north of the structure. It was build by simply stacking rocks. Over time it has crumbled and some of it has been partially rebuilt.
From there we continued the trip around Sand Mountain, the last part being an off-road trail through an old wash. It was really intended to be traversed with an ATV but we continued with out Mariner and made it back to camp.
When the Worthens left to visit their family in the Salt Lake area, they left us the use of their quads. We took an exploring trip up on Sand Mountain on Friday and Saturday.
We took advantage of sunny days to explore the trails and see the views. Thank you, Stan and Toni, for the opportunity to explore.
