Pine Valley, Utah

On Monday, 11/11/2013, we took a day trip with Stan & Toni Worthen to visit Pine Valley, Utah. This is a small community located in a mountain valley in southwest Utah about 6300 feet in elevation. Most homes are summer homes but there are about 30 families that reside there year around.

At the east end of main street is the Dixie National Forest (I think). These two pictures were taken on the fishing platform at the little reservoir.
We left Pine Valley and went on up to Enterprise, Utah. We had lunch at Marv's drive in - great place to eat. Also, in town was this place that had a yard full of stuff. Included is their version of Mader, large and small.

Friday, 11/8/2013, we attended a fireside at the St. George Tabernacle that featured Gracia Jones. Joseph Smith is Gracia's great-great-grandfather. She talked about her conversion to the church and the challenges she has in finding and helping other decendents know the truth of the restored gospel.

Tuesday, 11/5/2013, we visited the Jacob Hamblin Home in Santa Clara, Utah. Jacob was a pioneer Brigham Young sent to this area to work with the Indians. He became known as the friend of the Indians and there are many stories of his dealings with them and their feelings toward and about him.
